A Vision Becomes A Reality Ann Levene-Eisenberg Executive Director The ground is cleared and the walls are going up! After 15 years, The Palm Beach School for Autism will have its own home; a place specifically designed for students on the autism spectrum. It’s hard to believe that we have now arrived at this point after many years of careful strategic planning and hard work. A special thanks goes out to the members of our Board of Directors, our families, teaching staff and the community for all of their support, patience and perseverance in helping us take a vision and turning it into a reality. Our 22,500–square-foot building will be completed in August 2012 as we welcome in the new school year. Currently we educate over 145 students in seven cottages on the A. G. Holley Complex; in the new building we will be teaching more than 200 children with autism spectrum disorder. To help us achieve this goal we have launched the One Piece at a Time capital campaign in December 2011. Меньше

To all our families, The school year is going wonderfully. The Pre-K, students (and teachers), have all settled into the daily school day routine. It is hard to believe that it is November already and almost time for Thanksgiving. The students had a great time on Halloween – all of the costumes were so adorable! The birthday parties have been quite successful and it is nice to see the parents here at school. Before long it will be winter break and families will be getting together to visit and to fill up on all the delicious foods that go along with the holidays. Let us make sure that we all have a safe and happy holiday. Until the next time I would like to leave you with this quote by Anatole France: “Nine tenths of education is encouragement”.
