—Lindy Miller of
Fort Worth had problems finding
flights late Sunday following play
in the 71st Senior PGA Championship.
Thanks to a steady, even-par closing
72 at Colorado GC, Miller earned low
PGA club professional honors and the
attention that goes with it.
Miller’s closing round gave the
53-year-old PGA teaching pro at Shady
Oaks CC a 72-hole total of 4-over 292 to
share 29th with former U.
S.
Open champion Tom Kite.
He earned $12,000.
Miller also won the low club pro honor
at the 1991 PGA Championship.
“I don’t know if that has ever been done
before, but I am proud that I could be playing well enough to add both accomplishments,” Miller said.
“I’m very pleased with
the way the week went.
